Agreed. I find it impossible to handicap what our commitment, in manpower and aid, will have to be in order to "win the peace" after overthrowing Saddam. We're talking years of peacekeeping or outright occupation, in addition to tens (or hundreds) of billions of dollars in investment and aid. I think it'll require a commitment much like the one we're making in Afghanistan, but on a much larger scale because of the potential impact a leadership vacuum in Iraq could have on the Middle East region as a whole.
