Oklahoma got lucky in more ways than one. A slipped ball by Watts at the end of that game and I thought Coach Fran made an error in judgement in the first half. Alabama came out trying to play finesse football in the first half out of respect for Oklahoma's defense and the results were a 23-3 defecit. In the second half they decided to do more power running and nearly pulled off the big upset. I think that Oklahoma definitely has some work to do if they intend to challenge Miami. OU can't run against a good defense and teams with strong power running games can move the ball on their vaunted defense. I really didn't see any weakness for Miami. They were simply awesome.

Thanks NLionGuy...

It was a lackluster win... wound up watching more of the IL game... poor Illini...

Couldn't tell if Notre Dame was really, really good or if Purdue was just mediocre... didn't watch it with the concentration I should have... had a surprise gentleman caller... the five-year-old who lives next door... :-) He is very bright and well-mannered... I take it as an honor that he wanted to come over... of course, the poor kid has no other kids to play with among the three houses that constitute our "neighborhood" so I guess I shouldn't let it go to my head.

Next week will be interesting... am trying not to get too emotionally involved in the MI - Notre Dame game... I can be totally ridiculous.

Very curious to see how Penn State does against Nebraska... you could have a major advantage in that you'll be both well-rested and have the home field advantage. I wish it were an afternoon game... I have serious trouble staying awake for anything after 9:00 p.m... with or without benefit of Bud. ;-)

Hope your blisters heal soon and that your back is ache free right now... I'm off to take a walk before I go back to chores.
