Windsock, what do you think Intel should have done instead of file a lawsuit against nVidia's use of QPI?
My hunch is that bravado wasn't a factor in Intel's decision to file suit, but rather a breakdown in negotiations with nVidia. Given Jen-Jen's penchant for exaggeration in public, I can imagine that nVidia demanded terms that were unacceptable to Intel and would compromise Intel's IP.
After all, what does nVidia have to lose? They saw how AMD had Neelie the Terrible on her side. Why shouldn't they take advantage of a political environment that is leaning more toward aggresive antitrust regulation, as you pointed out?
