just because shares are shorted doesn't mean they didn't buy back the same day to cover. so take it for what ever way u like.

Not necessarily true regarding shares sold on the bid. Yesterday there was a stock that was 100% short volume and all buys were at the bid. MM's short to create a market at the ask, at times, and hope to cover at the bid and make money on the difference.
