IMO....the HC bill has nothing to do with health care....if it had to do with "health care", everyone would have debated it.....and, compromises would have been reached....

Geo, you might want to consider reading news sources that are more varied, because the debate happened, compromises WERE reached, and the final bill contained over 100 amendments from the Republicans - making it *bipartisan*.

Most of the critics like yourself seem to believe just the opposite. I was able to watch the debate happen, and track the various amendments and the discussion, and I know I didn't invent it in my head. You obviously missed it, however.

the HC bill is the Dems "baby"....everyone was locked out....

This is also untrue for the same reasons mentioned above. Here's what happened: Obama opened the bill up for bipartisan discussions for over a year. In August, the Republicans lambasted the efforts, calling out absurd misrepresentations, like Death Squads. Obama tried again over the holidays when the House passed their version, and the Senate was looking for support. Again, Democrats had no help. In February, Obama held a summit and asked for Republican ideas. They said "start over", but offered no new ideas. Meanwhile, Democrats had already included all of the serious amendments from Republicans, merged them into the bill, and the Republicans still complained about not being included.

It's hard to imagine what Obama could have done to further the bipartisan effort. He did more than most other presidents in the past, but the Republicans had a political strategy to oppose the bill, regardless of what it contained. It's not a story you will see on Fox News, but those watching from the outside saw the whole thing unfold.
