Living 1 mile from the airport I always told people that I don't hear the planes because my house is parallel to the airstrip.
Now that the entire airport is shut down, I realize that in fact those bastards were making noise.
Saw on the news last night people paying $1000 or more to do trips from Paris to Brussels for example.
Being as I am a 2 minute drive from the Airport, I decided to head over there and see what, if anything, I could cash in on.
It was a fucking ghost town
Best I could come up with as an idea was bed and breakfast. So headed over to the information counter and told them, should anyone show up in need of lodging, I can handle 2 adults and 2 children.
The women said so far there is no need, but she never stopped thanking me and saying I was real nice for offering and took down my phone number.
She never let me get to the part where these people would have to PAY.
Oh well, it seems most people vacated the airport and decided to go to the train station. Dumbasses, the trains have been ON STRIKE for over a week.
I could never wrap my head around the expression "you can't get there from here"
Now I know what it means....
