Interesting article - thanks.

While attending Catholic school, I was influenced by several nuns of whom I was very fond...of course there was the "occassional" nun who was not fond of talkers and would demonstrate how much a 3-corner ruler hurts when it meets up with a youngster's knuckles! Nontheless, by 12yrs old I decided I would become a nun and was neither encouraged nor discouraged by my parents...then something happened when I turned 13 - the opposite sex came into view, which in hindsight my parents probably knew would happen!

Entering a Catholic religious order demands sacrifice...with that said, I am no longer a weekly for various reasons. Just this morning I read an AP article on how the Vatican will respond to a lawsuit Kentucky is bringing against the Pope with regard to the abuse of children by prients and the coverup by bishops...the church's defense to KY's desire to depose the Pope is:
-As a head of state, the Pope has immunity
-American bishops who oversaw abusive prients were not employees of the Vatican
-A 1962 document (to be used in this lawsuit) is not the "smoking gun" that provides proof of a coverup

Sadly, the Catholic church has made a conscience decision not to answer questions, ergo, not be accountable and perhaps believing this issue will eventually blow over. It will not!
