What current efforts of selling Nicosan? There have been no efforts to sell the product for roughly three years...
How does a product like this get sold, but telling people that it has been show to be effective in the treatment and management of Sickle Cell Disease, but the FDA has not determined that effectiveness. In other words, we have a long line of people who say it works for them, so give it a try for two months and see if it works for you. Will you ever see it at GNC? Not a chance, they wouldn't give it an inch of shelve space, but will a Sickle Cell Foundation recommend it to their members, yes they will. As FIAT mentioned, how we market it in the US will be far different than in Nigeria, since Nicosan enjoys NAFDAC approval in Nigeria, so we can say it works and they approve it. It's also backed by the Ministry of Health, because it's their product. There are more like 6-8 million (possibly more) Nigerians that have Sickle Cell, compared to probably 100,000-150,000 in the US (everyone in the SCD Community feels the numbers are far higher because people don't want anyone to know they have Sickle Cell, there's a stigma attached to it...). Obviously our efforts would focus on Nigeria. Even Ghana, with 400,000 individuals with SCD would be a better place to market and I've got two people that have sold a competitive SCD treatment ready to come to work for me. Then there's India, where the current estimates are 2,000,000 people with SCD... I could go on, but you want proof and I can't give you a shiny FDA approval sticker. Will we ever get one? Hard to say, but it takes a bit of time to get through clinicals anyway, so we'll just fumble along without it for the time being.
