Do they have to cover within the 13 day period? or can they apply for an extension. I know when I did not cover my short position (on another stock), my broker closed out my position because I had insufficient "margin capital" in my account. Do MM have the same rules or do they have to put up additional capital to avoid a forced close out position. Are MM even subject to these rules?
