Lee, I think you are right.... considering all the negative criticism of AG I guess there must be a lot of folks out there that could do better. I wish I could see them with the chance( always easy on the outside lookin' in)

Speaking personally, I think the policies that have been undertaken such as growth at any cost, deficit, fiat currency etc. means that the old and the young have been totally screwed. I feel sorry for the old, and fear for my young. If the worse comes to happen for my children, then damn him to hell.

OT, Mornin', Lee,

I do not believe any government or individual person can control economic cycles. They will occur over and over. It is a natural function of an economy.

The Fed, IMO, is expected to manage a mess created by a natural behavioural function of people -- greed and fear. Intervention in any natural cycle can make matters worse or it can make matters better, but it cannot stop the cycle.

We ARE the economy, and each of us in his own way has contributed to this mess. Another function of human behaviour is, whenever possible, to identify a scapegoat, blame someone else for the consequences of our mistakes. Alan Greenspan did not create this mess, we, the people, did.

Only in the fullness of time will we know whether the current action taken by our government and the Fed has contributed to making the current global economy crisis better or making it worse. For our part, let each of us take a responsible approach to modifying our own behaviour in hopes of mitigating whatever unpleasant result may eventuate.
