That IS kooool.

I'm rather surprised by your description of 42. It didn't seem that way to me. I remember the blind curve (and Mt. Solon, as well), but it was well marked. I wonder if, having spent my life on 2-lane roads, my expectations were lower. To me, it was a nice, quiet, "rolling" highway. I wouldn't call it a thrill. The real "thrills" were in West Virginia where you tried to go down the hills slower than you went up them.

I've been trying to think of the name of the cold storage where I loaded in Harrisonburg, but it escapes me. Something pretty mundane, like City Ice and Storage, I think, but I wouldn't bet on it. I do remember that there was a truck stop on 11 just south of town where I hung out, waiting to load. I also remember a drug store in town where I bought two of the best books I've ever read, "Thomas Jefferson's Letters" and "A Game of Marbles". The latter was written by a Swiss (I think) psychiatrist and described the development of a moral sense in children, based on the way they played marbles.

Aw, shoot. Who wants all this nostalgia stuff?

Even so, I think the fact that you're from Clifton Forge is ultra-koool.
