I don't have much of a disagreement with everything you wrote.

However, instead of worrying about it from the government end, why are you exonerating the physicians?

You're basically saying that you're being advised to have a procedure that you believe has little value for you. But then you note that if the proverbial government is making the decisions, then the system will get out of hand. Rather, why aren't you taking the physician to task for letting his profit motive drive your treatment path?

One of my biggest fears concerning these devices is that I may find that Microsoft provided some of the programming used in them.

I would think you’d be more worried that the programming was designed by Toyota.
