He cut funding because these programs not only provide abortions in other countries, but they try to change the laws in countries that ban abortions. If they want to do that, then they should not get tax money, as much of it comes from people who are against abortion. The same goes for Planned Parenthood in America, because they perform about 10% of all the abortions in the country, and recieve
Such arrogance! Just as much, if not more, of that tax money comes from taxpayers who believe in choice. Now you could argue that tax dollars should not be used for lobbying in other countries, but since the tax money is not the sole source of income for these organizations, it could be argued that the money from the government is being used only to promote reproductive responsibility. Personally, I don't think tax dollars belong going to ANY charity organization, but since it is, let's discuss this from a more realistic perspective. GW Bush is supposed to be the President of ALL the American people, not just the pro-lifers. Your answer above indicates that you are dancing around the truth. First you say that the foreign agencies are being denied funds because of their lobying, then say that Planned parenthood should be denied because they perform 10% of the abortions in America. At least have the courage of your convictions to state your case openly, and not hide behind rhetoric.
