riley ... claim evaluation.
It is multi faceted like all things and perhaps I should have clarified that a little. Our profession is part .. art as well as science. Some of us have 'gut' feelings that are amazingly reliable. Others are more pragmatic. Evaluating has different components. If you show me raw land and ask me for an evaluation because you are being offered a deal on them .. I can give you my opinion. Like any real estate. But this is geo real estate and its value is determined by several factors including location location. And of course my opinion will differ from some of my peers. The next evaluation you speak of is not 100 % evaluation. It is exploration and then the various geo techniques and tools are used. Yes I've done that too. The first step is 'boots on the ground'. A field geologist must go in and map out whatever rocks outcrop on surface. No I do not have a Doctorate. I have seen men with no college degrees at all who are better in some facets of our industry than some PhDs. In a lot of cases a Doctorate does not mean much. A lot of PhDs are more academic than practical .. and on average do not become more than ordinary explorationists.
