A poster on the ALNY board had an explanation for Sirna’s bizarre statement that the hair-removal market is $11B annually: Sirna was counting all barbers and hairstylists :-)
According to a Form 8K just filed, Sirna is issuing 500-675K common shares (worth about $2M at the current stock price) plus undisclosed (presumably small) milestones and royalties.
I am skeptical about the hair-loss technology Sirna is acquiring (#msg-4777116) but at least they aren’t paying a lot for it. A $2M payment is peanuts to obtain a product for the $11B hair-removal market (LOL, #msg-4783576).
I do not understand why Sirna would not disclose the number of issued shares on Wednesday’s CC.
