Athero-I don't feel knowledgeable enough to debate in depth about diabetes--and I'm not sure exactly why you are mentioning it specifically--but isn't it largely preventable and manageable through diet?

Btw-That is a great story about the Abbott sec. You rarely see/here about frugality like that in this country anymore (maybe I'm an old soul, because I am very parsimonious). It will be very, very rare for these cicumstances to present themselves again. There is too much greed at the top, scheming and herding amongst traders/brokers, and volatility in general, to comfortable take that approach. Maybe if we let these monster players fail--instead of validating/securing their approach with our money--we could have returned to simpler, solid times.

I liked the story of the ABT secretary who bought 3 shares of ABT for 180 in 1935, reinvested dividend and cashed out 7 million (annualized 15%). Will this happen again in pharma?

And she donated it all to her College. It is a great story.
