Naked short selling is not dependent on the profitability of the company. It is demonstrated adequately by the volume of failures to deliver and the thresholds being met so aggressively. The letter did state that the drop in price was likely due "in part" by the NSS. NSS does manipulate stock price. For sure, there are other factors, but it does not eliminate the observed evidence of the FTDs that track so closely to the price.
