I'm kind of surprised we haven't had any cold snaps in the south and east. A few weeks back when they were getting the freak snow in southern Cal. the jet stream was heading almost due south down the west coast, but instead of bringing any of that east, it was getting so far south that when it turned back north it was bringing the warmer air with it. And with the storage in the west running 15%+ the cold hasn't even dented their NG supplies.
We still have a lot of the heating season left. The coldest month is Janurary. But if we don't see much in the way of draw downs in the next few weeks, with storage running so high, we'll have dodged another bullet. And these ridiculous NG prices will have been for naught. Took an almost 10% drop today to finally get us under last winters highs. The chart below doesn't have the current day on it which is in the 6.80's.
