Huh? Are these thoughts related?
I can agree that in order to have a chance at profitability, the company does not need off-label use. But, cataplexy alone would not interest me in the prospects for Xyrem and I don't think cataplexy alone providesor a chance at a double. So, at a minimum, I would want to see Xyrem widely used for excessive daytime sleepiness to pique my interest. My point is that unless a formal expansion of indication from FDA is approved, this market would need to be served by off label use---as has already made Provigil a success by most standards.
Thanks for the lead on the study by Dr. Swartz which I will try to find.
