What I fear is the possibility that annuities could become a mandated part of the private defined contribution retirement system. People already have the option, should they choose, to role their private retirement account into an annuity when they retire.
Right now it appears that they want to have method of moving directly into an annuity on retirement. I don't object as long as it's only an option.
Annuities have there own unique set of problems and aren't a solution to people eventually outliving their retirement.
