Answer me this smarty-pants: Do you believe that retail investors and readers of I-hub are pushing the Chemtura stock price up and down on these big swings? If you say yes, you're A bigger fool than I thought you were.

If you agree with me that big money, institutional investors, and professional fund managers are really making this stock move up and down, then you must concede that no person who's responsible for millions of customer dollars will just buy/sell purely on Fundamentals. There is plenty of buying and selling occuring here in between news releases. Fund Managers use fundamentals to tell them whether a company is good to own or not, but WHEN they buy and sell is based on TECHNICAL ANALYSIS.
Wall Street firms employ many brilliant mathematicians to perform these technical analyses and create all the various algorithms that you see on charts (MACD, RSI, PPO, EMA, etc.) If they're so useless then why would they have created all of these tools to perform technical analysis? They're not absolute predictors of price movement, but they do provide guidelines that for some reason have a very high coincidence of working.

Also, I've heard Jim Cramer say a couple times now that Hedge Fund Managers live and die by charts. Look, Fundamentals and Charts are both important when deciding how to manage your portfolio. Some people are biased towards what they choose to use. It's a free country. So don't go off all pissy at someone on I-hub for posting charts because you're watching your portfolio balance decrease substantially over the past few days. If you don't believe in the power of charts in the first place then anyone posting them shouldn't bother you.

Oh, and I remember a few months ago when positive MORs would come out and the stock price dropped. How does your pure-fundamentals theory explain those occurrences?

Lastly, you're not THE MAN, despite what all these sycophants on this board sucking up to you might lead you to believe. You're just a guy who's highly motivated and took action on something that might benefit Chemtura shareholders. In so representing us and having our personal information (i.e. number of shares we own) we expect you to uphold a certain professionalism and confidence with that information.
You're reminding me of an A-h.

I've never used the term blue sky breakout - do you know why? Because it doesn't exist...You wanna know who uses that one? CMM...A FUNDAMENTAL GUY LIKE YOURSELF....SO GIMME A BREAK WITH YOUR "KNOWLEDGE."

If you took the time to actually learn the charts I use INSTEAD OF MAKING ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT THINGS YOU KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT, THEN MAYBE I CAN open your little eyes to that...but it's not my fault you can't read charts and don't want to learn how to read them...I don't have the time to teach you how mm's use news / fundamentals to drive the pps of the stock up and down...meaning...i don't have the need to document such stuff on the chart...others are welcome to do that...and you are welcome to add that to the chart analysis I bring here FOR EVERYONE'S BENEFIT...it just really amazes me that you attack me when we have the same goal in mind here and I AM HERE TO HELP PEOPLE...

And just because you were lucky to be in early doesn't make you any smarter than anyone else, although you have an OBVIOUS EGO PROBLEM. ARE YOU A NARCISSIST? DO YOU HAVE THIS DISORDER? DO YOU LIKE BEING A BULLY?

You don't know how many shares I own now or how many I have accumulated over the past several mos since the alliance formation - and although it may not be as many in shares, it's probably close to your share count in "risked capital" - so please, don't even go there...so...I don't even know what to say about that comment except the fact that your true colors have shown themselves here and wow...maybe I shouldn't have joined the alliance...I'LL KNOW BETTER NEXT TIME...

AND I'M NOT LOOSE LIPPED WITH THE DOOM AND GLOOM COMMENTS...YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT BC AGAIN YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND CHARTING. ARNOLD DOESN'T KNOW HALF WHAT I KNOW IN REGARD TO THE CHARTS, DUDE.

PEOPLE KNOW MY AGENDA HERE.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR...POUR YOURSELF WHATEVER IT IS YOU DRINK DOWN THERE, AND PUT ME ON IGNORE. THIS WILL BE THE LAST POST I ADDRESS TO YOU. I HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO WITH MY TIME.

GOOD DAY, SIR.

Whoa! Slingfest City in Chemville...what else is new?

Wall, the board appreciates your efforts with the EC and your contributions to the board prior to the alliance. I always liked your shoot from the hip banter. However, you veer into the caustic realm at times. Your attack on HFields (all we need is a machete and blood splattered walls to set the tone) was uncalled for.

Charts do have their place and trust me (ask your Tute buddies that have been calling you), all those brokerage houses use algorithmic trading .Every place I worked at had their black box system ready to sell at breached support “chart” levels and ready to spit out an avalanche of trades at warp speed based on programmed variables).Fundamentals are king, but that doesn’t necessarily make charts a lowly chessboard pawn.

I didn’t participate in the alliance. I had my reservations about Cemjq due to the lack of an asset sale, so amended my exit strategy (we all have our own risk tolerances…to each his own). However, then players like SVP came on to the scene and bolstered Cemjq’s chances. The participation of funds and Tutes in Chemtura is a seismic vote of confidence.

Wall, kudos to you, Jax et al. for mobilizing the EC effort. However, you didn’t do it to bolster HFields, RJ’s or anyone else’s portfolio…you did it to bolster your own. Lets not play overplay the Martyr card. Wall, deleting charts pertaining to Chemtura is out of bounds. I do appreciate Hfields charts and there are many on this board and other boards who do. There are those that contribute DD and those that contribute charts on each board...both are valuable contributions.

Wall, divulging personal information (alluding to HFields # of shares) was way out of bounds. HFields contributed to the formation of the EC (to help his own bottom line and yours in the process) and you repay him by betraying his confidence. I’m so glad that I didn’t participate in the alliance for this reason alone. I did my own behind the scenes foot work by writing to the Trustee and contacting Mr. J (won’t divulge his full name to the board...may not be appropriate to do so) at the SEC.

Wallstreet, anyone reading your post betraying HFields’ confidence would be wary in the future to supply personal information to a public board to form an EC. People value their privacy (some more than others) and do not want their personal information strewn all over a public message board. You did a service to Chemtura shareholders mobilizing the EC, but you did a disservice to them betraying their trust.

I don’t know why people got so rattled with the recent drop...it’s par for the course in Chemville! The manipulation of this stock is blatant (that nosedive to the 40’s was akin to a DNDN move).

Anyway, good luck to all you Chemtura Longs and keep it civil, otherwise I’ll sic Arnold on the board:)
