I contend that the Big Corporations have gained control and have grown their influence because of the Big Federal Governement. If we had or would now get out of the business of trying to manage everything then the Big Business would have been or can still be limited. Don't you realize that when laws are written, Big Business, Special Interests provide the words. Do you really think the concerns of small business or the individual are represented ?
I'm trying to parse this, logically. If there was zero government, and zero regulations, then corporations could do anything they want, and they absolutely would spend their money to increase their influence in our lives, especially if it meant higher profits, which it would.
Just a few months ago, some of the lobbyists were discussing the possibility of opening up the labor laws to allow for child labor, slave labor, and convict labor. The government is actually protecting against corporations from using slavery today.
Subtract the government control, and you would basically have a Plutocracy, where the country amounts to a bunch of small kingdoms, with Walmart, Exxon-Mobile, and Goldman-Sachs as the kings.
How is that any different from the Big Brother that you are afraid of? How can you advocate for less government and less control, when the inevitable outcome is a loss of all our freedoms to a bunch of corporate fiefdoms??
