EDIT Speaking of which, it's next to impossible to get accurate figures on anything. It's so easy to slant statistics to prove any point...for or against anything, especially when it has to do with money. I had the darndest time just trying to get an accurate figure for my 0.1% in my last post. When we hear "the top 10%" so often, we really should always be told what that top 10% stands for. I found out today that it can mean different things. For instance, the group taken into account may only be taxpayers who paid into the system, or it could include people with incomes that didn't pay taxes because they didn't make enough.
EDIT here- I'm not explaining this correctly. What I mean is that it's hard to know what group of people is included when statements about the top percentage of anything is being talked about.
