marginnayan: Yep, I have been using a LinkSys router and LinkSys Nic cards since early 2000. Hard wiring was the route I went, as the wireless was not available then, but I prefer the hard wire anyway for security reasons.
At any rate, A single DSL line plugged into the LinkSys router (high speed switcher) allows each of my computers to download consistently at 720KBps and upload at 120KBps, not to mention the router also serves the roll of a hub.
