I feel their pain. I worked for Santa Fe Holdings (SFHDQ) on the side setting up new restaurants for them until earlier this year. Every one we ever set up we'd revisit to eat on the way to other locations ans they were just booming! Me and the other guys thought it was a safe bet owning the stock because we saw the results. When the banks failed, funds froze and construction halted. It became found out too that someone was cashing shares out and living large. Luckily I flipped it too and only had a fair amount when it crashed. The others I know though, yikes. I've been watching the symbol though in case one of the huge debt holders decides to revive it. They are out of bankruptcy, but the stock will likely never be.
It's crazy how they just halt the trading. Leaves a bitter taste for sure.
