He stated that if Bush was re-elected the political shift to the far right in economic and military policy will be the kiss of death for the U.S.

I will now set my clock alarm for 2010 for the globe falling into a dark hole it will take at least 30 years to rise out of---- it will be a time that can only be describes as castastrophic.

The political shift to the far right with its self-destructive economic and military policies will also be the catalyst for another major shift as the economic and political center in Asia shifts from the United States and Japan to China.

Two major shifts.

And since we have publicly given ourselves ten years to achieve lasting military dominance in the world I think you are also probably right in your time estimate. Ten years in public for China’s sake but in reality less, probably five years or about.

The second vital interest revealed by the troop redeployment plan is the desire to contain Chinese bids for supremacy in East and Southeast Asia. The Bush administration's National Security Strategy is premised on the plausible expectation that the United States has a window of opportunity of approximately a decade to attempt to achieve lasting military dominance in the world, after which it will be faced by an uncontainable Chinese adversary.
