Joemoney, your post was not political, per se, but it was in response to Sylvestor's previous post, which was most definately political. I simply wanted to prevent him -- or someone else -- from continuing on in the same vein until we had a full-fledged hair-pulling match going on.
As for you, you say you don't like the way I "guard" the thread from politics. I find this somewhat puzzling, since my post to you was in the way of a polite, even friendly, reminder of the standing rule of the thread -- something which should be obvious to anyone who has so much as read the thread title, i.e., Zeev's Turnips Patch-No Politics.
Your refusal to follow Zeev's rule, on Zeev's thread, which is entitled Zeev's Turnips Patch-No Politics," unless Zeev himself specifically tells you to is ... well ... I'm afraid 'silly' is the kindest characterization I can think of.
By the way, you'll notice that my post to Sylvestor was somewhat less friendly than my post to you, in that I threatened him with a riding crop. I hope, (and rather assume), that he took that in the joking manner in which it was intended, since I both like and respect him, even when he occasionally lets his political passions boil over a bit.
After all, it is not our faults which define us as people, so much as how we deal with them, or fail to deal with them, as the case may be.
