meanwhile, back to the main point

the U.S. soldiers are now involved in a "guerilla war"

it seems we didn't learn from Vietnam, and the russians in Afghanistan... the superpowers were defeated, in both cases, by hand weapons and shoulder-fired weapons despite seemingly invincible firepower

"guerilla warfare" always favors the country being invaded

how do you kill a billion enraged muslims one by one???

how do you distinguish the "insurgents" from the "non-insurgents" in their hometowns???

here's where the "bigger gun theory" is no longer valid

the "bigger gun" and more fresh bodies, is great for invading a country... but when you try to "occupy" a country, it's a whole new game

we should have cut our losses long ago, even before the current administration... there's plenty of blame to go around... but now we got us a nice little mess that's only going to get worse... no way to win... but i guess for some people, rose-colored glasses make it bearable

No, you read the quote again. And then go back and read what you wrote. You said "I don't recall anyone ever saying Zarqawi was even necessarily in Fallujah or that we'd capture him." If Allawi is warning the residents of Fallujah to turn over Zarqawi and his mery band of thugs, or they will be attacked means two things. One, intelligence showed Zarqawi was in Falluja. Two, part of the objective of this mission was to get Zarqawi and his henchmen. Which they have not done yet. And probably won't since they've probably already left Falluja, along with, according to US commanders on the ground, many of the insurgents.

Chrissy has positioned himself so that he is only happy when there are anerican defeats. He predicted massive casualties that haven't occured so he has to find solace in the fact that we haven't gotten zarquawi yet
