I think we need 4 possibilities instead of just two. I think this sums it up. Anyone got anything else?

1. They are not releasing the results because they found a big discovery
2. They are not releasing the results because they haven't found anything commercial
3. They are not releasing results because they are protecting proprietary data for future use
4. They are not releasing results because they are not finished with the necessary analysis

They are not releasing the results because:
1. They found a big discovery
2. They haven't found anything commercial
3. They are protecting proprietary data for future use
4. They are not finished with the necessary analysis
6. There is a buyout in the works?
7. They don't have to. Holding onto information is a form of power - political power as it relates to the Nigeria/STP region and competitive advantage over other businesses.
8. There is no decision on the optimum development path foreward (pipeline or floating platforms) and where it is politically beneficial to access or locate any required downstream infrastructure (Nigeria or STP).
9. They are in negotiations for a buyout/in
10. They want to keep EEZ block prices down and even on adjoining blocks
11. Some smaller players in blocks 1,2,3,4 need to be bought out by the big boys. These smaller players can't afford the costs, they need to be removed.
