Very interesting. I changed banks 2 times last year as Bankrate.com and thestreet.com have excellent resources to evaluate the stability and security of any bank or savings and loan. In the SE US we had many bad loans and so the banks with large exposure in this region have been hit hard.

I know very little of the numbers within the balance sheets and what to look for from within the numbers that gives a clear picture. BUT I BET YOU DO. Those websites make it easy for all to understand the basics. Might you email me sometime so that I could ask you questions about those balance sheets directly sometime? [e-mail]
