hmmm... I dont know. Maybe it was because in the early IBMer days, they were required to wear white shirts and ties... I just know I never wore one LOL.

Probably because with some "girls" the pocket protectors would be horizontal instead of vertical and that would render them useless. The ink would not go down.

The pens would fall out when they walked also.
