Thurly, sorry to hear about your relative with viral encephalitis. It could, in fact, be too late for Bavi, and possibly true that the doctors have heard of Bavi. The opposite is also possible. Next question to ask: "What imaging study results,level of consciousness,etc. leads to the conclusion that it is too late for Bavi?"

The person is dying and it's too late to consider treatment intervention? Now that's a "We'll just continue using the SOC even if it kills him" doctor for ya. I guess it depends on what stage she was when the doc heard of bavi. Even then, the SOC doesn't work so we'll continue using it. Unless he meant the patient didn't qulaify for the trial.
