Scuelous ... You need to Intern with a brokerage or investment firm for awhile so you can start to understand how those guys that manage other people's money and make huge bucks think!!
I worked for many years for a group of Harvard MBA's who managed $1.5B in the early '90s (before they sold out) with strong clients like Henry Bloch, Bassett Family and Texas A&M Development!! We had many mega-millionaire clients ... old and new money!! No one EVER liked seeing their portfolio decrease ... and you could count on the old money scolding your tail for losing one dollar of their hard earned money!!
Don't think for a moment that Bonderman doesn't care about regaining the money he invested. It wasn't all his money ... TPG's investment also included money from the investors that they manage. Recovery for TPG means correcting a wrong that was done to them and their clients!!
