There's an election in Nov. that going to put a lot of exCongressmen and staff in new Homeland defense slots. Think carefully and decide how one can profit from WCOM demise. I got my FON long position. If I thought really hard of some way that $ 44 B in bonds, accounts payable and tax liabilities that are going up in smoke can lead to something good, I would let you know.

Right now I got Springsteen's "The rising" cranked up and it not bad for record from an aging baby boomer. Nary a weak filler track in the bunch.

Government has it's own scam going. It is social security. I received a statement from SSA, saying that they are able to pay only 73% of my benefits. If I do not contribute any more, and put all money that they already took in the CD at 3% per year I could receive payments for 100 years after I retire. And they do not have enough money?!!
That scam is bigger then all WCOM's and internets, Oil stocks of the 80s, LTCM, and other defaults combined.

Syl, It is one big game of cops-and-robbers! We make the money, and they try to figure out how to get it away from us! It ain't the system, it's human nature at work. No question, affluence corrupts! Add to that the socialistic (and altruistic?) shifting of wealth from the producers of that wealth (who use it to create more wealth) to the consumers of that wealth (who simply use it), and there goes the future.

Capitalism may not be fair and just to all, but it's the best thing going right now.
