y2k didn't scare me either. It is just an arbitrary date on an arbitrary calendar.

Having a huge stock market bubble break made me nervous but didn't scare me. It should have. I lost 40% of my portfolio value. 40% down definitely beats 100% down. The best I can say is that since I sold a lot of the bubble I ended up more than a little solvent instead of burnt to the ground. Once was enough, never again.
