It's not that unusual for factories to close for a week or two, either in the summer or around the winter holidays. It gives them a chance to retool and do maintenance. I know this practice is quite common in Great Britan between Christmas and New Years.

Which is different than saying... "Yes we will do 6 million."
By saying the company stands behind its revenue projections the company could do 2.4 million and JD would technically be telling the truth. Misleading for sure, but technically true.
"Usually 2/3rds or more of our annualized sales are completed in the last half of the year. This year will be no exception"
This was released after second qtr was over so 2X800k +800K=2.4 million.
