OT Dew,

When we talk about the "medical-loss-ratio" of being of xx%, I'm confused as to where all the state and federal taxes fall in place.

In NYS there are 6% to 8% taxes applied to the private insurers and now you'll have to add xx% from the federal level. Are these taxes part of the medical loss portion or are they charged to the overhead portion.

If its the latter these companies are history.

Thanks - good to see the other side articulated - and well done. Not surprisingly, he argues that survival of the companies is in the balance.

Unfortunately, in law - there is always another side to argue. Winning is quite another thing.
