Can you explain the two photos? What are we looking at? Where is the legend? Is the North pole really purple? Are polar bears too?

Are you assuming that the white color = ice and doesn't form on the North Pole but instead surrounds the North Pole?

Here is a page you can review pictures of and compare different dates of the north pole. Here is a 29 year span from Dec 1980 to Dec 2009. All you have to do is look at the huge amount of ice that has grown since then and see that it IS GROWING.

Arctic (from the site you submitted for our perusal):

I'm going to go ahead and assume that the purple = ice since it is top dead center for the North Pole.

Look at the bottom right corner, almost completely gone in the second picture.
