Wow, you remember that. That's my favorite exchange too. Wasn't Anthony Quinn about as perfectly cast as anybody could be?!!!!!!!!!! And I loved his outfit :) - my chromosomes may differ from yours so I'm allowed to notice such things. Anyway, even the melodramatic performance by Douglas seemed perfectly fitting. Much as I liked Vincent and Theo, to me, it doesn't hold a candle to Lust For Life, which I've seen, believe it or not, six times.
An aside: I was running around with my husband's nephew a while back. He was running faster and faster and I yelled, "Hey, slow down there if you want me to keep up with you". He yelled back, "I can't, my shoes are too fast".
