I'am not saying that this is something that will come to pass in any short order.

I will say that today no insurance is needed for dr's to allow patients, that includes blind patients to take insulin, lovenox (blood thinner), interferon for MS, or for that matter any shots.

I myself would prefer to give myself a shot or have my care taker give me a shot then to go into an office and wait around while my IV is completed.

I would also say that the cost of Sub IQ would certainly make the insurance co's and dr's who think about such things, prefer the sub q. The Dr in this house doesn't think it would be a big deal.

There are examples of IV that are now sub q. For example pregnant women with cloting disorders use to have to go into the hospital for heparin. Now they give themselves heperin shots. Perhaps not the best example, because a visit to the optho would be easier then a hospital stay.
