100,000 Iraqis killed by war: study

BEIJING, Oct. 29 (Xinhuanet) -- The first scientific study of the human cost of the Iraq war, published in UK medical magazine The Lancet, suggests that at least 100,000 civilians have been killed since US-led forces invaded the country in March 2003.
The study was carried out by the American Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University.
It also shows that more than half of the dead were women and children killed in violent circumstances and air strikes. Enditem
