interesting...although i'm planning to buy an a-dale nb in january apple has never been on the consideration list.

Is anyone other than Theo Valich rumoring this? It doesn't make much sense, given that if they want discrete graphics, they could just disable the on-package igp... not to mention that the memory controller sits on that die, as well :)

Theo probably got some wires crossed. And he's as pro-AMD, anti-Intel as ever, as you can tell from the tone of that article.

I'm a bit disappointed in this but I can understand Apple's position.

The vast majority of Apple users would be fine with integrated graphics as would I but Apple feels that they need to market a midrange or higher discrete graphics solution to appeal to the premium market which it serves. Certainly Sony doesn't feel this way and they sell solutions with integrated graphics in the premium market.

I think that Apple feels that they can have it both ways with a good switching solution and maybe they can.

Disappointment on LRB too. Oh well, I don't need a laptop anytime soon. My current laptops should be good for at least another three years.
