How many times have you seen NITE drive a stock down on petty little sells, yet millions could be bought and they hold it back....
How many times have you heard of shorting or naked shorts and yes the MM's have been fined and caught doing that very thing....
Artificial price action caused by the gate keepers themselves....
Oh brother.....you have not studied the markets at all to believe that the market makers are lillty white and all stocks move purely on REAL suppply and demand...wow
However, Nasdaq market makers, routinely take positions in stocks, both long and short, and then turn them around for a profit, or a loss, later in the day. They provide liquidity, but they are also more focused on capitalizing on your lot of stock by buying it for their own trading account and then flipping it to another buyer. In any case, market makers will sometimes post phony sizes in order to lure you into buying or selling a stock.
