I would put it to JF that there should be a great number of plans, in order to differentiate them from the competition even further. How about a 3 month plan and a 6 month plan?

Hamburger

Then there are those that rent 2 movies per night every night and like the idea of not standing in line at BBI.

sorry but think you are way off on this one......i can easily pick 72 movies, assuming of course i could add movies to my queueeueueueue, i easily rented 2-3 dvd/games a month especially in the winter......

and if you get a family with kids that play games you can rack up a lot of money renting these games, and re-renting it when the kid wants it for another week "to get to the end of the game"

and about paying 50 bucks to go to the movies, it is a perfect point people are getting tired of paying that and are more willing to what a few months to see the movies on dvd

2) People who lock themselves into a $222 payment for video rentals at the beginning of the year are generally middle class or higher. These regular folk are demanding - they want to watch the newest movies when they want to watch them. These are the same people who pay $15 to go to a new movie ($50+ for a family of 4). If they are willing to pay $50+ to see a new movie in theatres because they want to see it, they won't be satisfied with not being able to see new releases when they want to see them - even if they are saving a few dollars. Because new releases are somewhat difficult to get from GZFX, people have to request older movies - who can think of 72 movies they a) want to watch and b) are available for watching?

IMHO The home movie market in general is driving this industry and the fact that the public appears to be going very rapidly in this direction makes me think that the general public will shop for deals just as they currently do for cell phone service. I think GZFX should heavily publicize the annual price and then offer the current $18.50/mo., emphasizing the fact that the customer can upgrade to the savings level at any time in the future....
