Bare with me on this and take the time to read this.
I wasn't trying to actually connect the two companies as much as I was trying to connect the idea of the Coffee Shop as an outlet to sell MJ.
I was thinking long term when I made that post and I should have explained my thought process better. Here is why:
When I saw the comment from the CEO for MJNM about an OTCBB Coffee Shop shell that you brought to my attention, my first thought was why a Coffee Shop shell? Especially since MJNA initial business model revolves around medical use and medical dispensaries.
My second thought was this CEO is thinking long term down the road beyond medical use to full or limited legalization and how best to market it to the public and capitalize on it. As this is where the real money is.
After watching this King of Pot on that video I realized this guy has the ability to think big things and formulize strategies, he is not just a burnt out stoner. Plus he has also mentioned seeing in the future pot stores in Vegas, so this and other comments show his intent is to be at the forefront of full legalization and capitalize on it before anyone else does. And as some of know about the Pot biz, it’s all about your connections and he has them and the big pharmas don’t.
So if I was him, I would be thinking strategically. Even if legalized he will still have resistance from a staunch anti-drug elements in society that will be trying to connect everything and anything bad whether true or not to any type of store he would sell out of and try to get it on the Nancy Grace Show. These people will hold protest, in front of stores trying to get it on the news, the will go to their city council and try to get local laws passed or zoning laws passed that will stop him from putting in a store. They will treat him like a strip club owner. They will do this regardless of what federal and State laws are. Local politicians will use him as a way of getting votes. We may see the world as becoming more tolerant toward the use of pot, but there is still a large and very vocal group out there call parents and grandparents that will be against this idea.
To counter this he will need a strategy. He will need to make this mainstream as soon as possible, he will need to market this as being fashionable and even as normal as going down to your local Starbucks for a cup of coffee. And don’t tell me that if Starbucks thought they could pull it off they wouldn’t sell you a joint ,or pipe load , or a brownie, to go along with your cup of joe while you’re sitting on their patios with your laptop blogging on I-Hub. You’ll have to be on the patio because of smoking laws.
What better way to reduce the risk to a business than to start a chain or buy a chain of Starbucks like coffee shops as a subsidiary and make them generate at least some income just selling coffee while you wait for full or partial legalization. Once it happens then you start introducing marijuana products to the store. Not a rolled joint or pipe load that people go on the patio and smoke, but products like marijuana tea, brownies, fruit bars etc, etc. Think about it if all the protests happen and you’re in threat of having the business shut down, then you just agree to stop selling MJ products and the business still survives selling standard products until attitudes can be retested or court battles won.
So still at one point the concerned citizens will catch on as to what you coffee store is really about and then you will have to combat that problem. They will try and stop you before you put a store in. What better way to combat this by not initially building or buying lock and key establishments, why not selling and shipping over the internet. It is very hard to protest the internet and if it becomes legal they really can’t stop it by pissing and moaning about an internet site as this does not attract news crews. Right now people protest or have tried to shut down legal medical dispensary’s and every time one of these places get robbed they cry it brings crime to our neighborhood. Funny that when their local 7-11 or bank gets robbed that they don’t try and eject those businesses. Stupid people, it’s the money that attract the crime not the products. Well if you sold it over the internet you solve that problem.
Now let’s talk about HESG. One of the PR’s stated that HESG went to MJNA and hired them to consult them not the other way around. What would HESG need MJNA to consult them on except selling medical marijuana. What business aspect of HESG would be best suited to selling medical marijuana products for medicinal use and already has an established brand and distribution system.
According to this http://www.equitygroups.com/otcbb/hesg/messages/98296.html HESG bought this http://www.kalaharitea.com/ . So could that consultation meeting HESG had with MJNA around the same time with the CEO of MJNA PR’D that he was looking for a OTCBB listed shell Coffee business have turned from HESG saying “We would like you to consult us on if we can sell medical MJ product through this Kalahari Teas Online business” to the CEO of MJNA saying “Sure we can, but better yet we are looking for a Coffee shop type business and your even better because you make tea and all kinds of products that pot can be put into already. We should actually talk partnership”.
Sell online first, be in on the ground floor, capture initial market share and then roll out lock and key establishments.
So do you see where I was going with my comments, do you still think I was being delusional?
Anybody else no see a connection?
Can anyone else provide confirmation that HESG does in fact own Kalahari Teas dot com? Or how it is doing?
