Going to the SEC is Strass's only ammunition. If that strategy doesn't work, then he really has got nothing more...which is what will make the situation that much more interesting.
Personally, I would like for Strass to do it. Here are the benefits of that action:
1) It would resolve the boredom problem we have around here.
2) Might cause mgt to say something in the form of a morsel for us, so Strass's passive aggression strategy vis. a vis. the SEC might actually work! (I doubt it though)
3) In its investigation of Erhc, the SEC and possibly even the DOJ might discover some silly dormant file gathering dust, and decide to close it, which in turn may result in appreciation of the share price.
4) The SEC might bungle the investigation and "accidentally" give some of Madoff's billions to Erhc.
5) Elliott Sptizer might get involved...the ham that he is, he is likely to talk about it on the news, giving Erhc much needed marketing and promotion.
6) It may result in nothing, the most likely scenario...but then we can watch what Strass will try to come up with next, in the form of some other negative reinforcement with which to manipulate management.
Anything from claiming he has a gazillion shares, which he **might** sell if management doesn't do something soon, to trying to coral people on this board to form a lynch mob. All of which would, of course, be futile, but immensely entertaining and it would help to pass the time while we wait for news.
In short, leave the man alone. You go get'em Strass, I'm actually rooting for you.
