Dr. Marc Faber's argument that a decade is coming close where gold will enter a lengthy bull market of say 10years is based on his study of Empires.America he says is now the greatest empire in the world since Rome, and this has a serious downside, inflation.
The cost of Empire will cause the money printing machines to work over time until the dilution will hit a point where inflation takes off.
I have yet to hear anyone concentrating on the fact the U.S. is now an Empire and the consequences it will have on our dollar.
It is well worth contemplation in my view.
BTW Marc Faber's scenario INCLUDES a 50/50 chance that
deflation will precede this rapid move into inflation.
I also note that he gave this dissertation when POG had hit into the 320s, and he said then this present run will have a sharp pullback and as the gold market sets-up for it's bull run, it will first be highly volatile. Max
