Lehman says Amazon Q3 to meet or miss forecasts (AMZN)
By Tomi Kilgore
NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- Lehman Bros. thinks Amazon.com, Inc. (AMZN) will meet or even miss third-quarter expectations due to both macro and company-specific concerns. Analyst Douglas Anmuth believes the increased adoption of search as the launching pad for online shopping is a direct threat to Amazon, as it makes pricing more important and threatens brand loyalty on the Internet. He also thinks the online retailer's quarter will be hurt by the loss of the loss of Gap (GPS) as a third-party retailer. The stock was last up 2 cents at $38.57.
