Intel, MicroSoft, Cisco etc. have fallen into the giant numbers trap. Once you own 90% of a market where is the upside? There is growth to be sure, but it is linear, organic growth if they are lucky. What is Windows going to do, capture 180% of the desktops?
On the other hand, some of Tobins picks in changing wave hi-tech have bombed. I think he was in scon and some software company that I can't even remember right now. He does OK in bull markets, in bear markets not very good at all. Just like most of us, duh.
