JP I am pretty sure that during the short period of Roger Pavane at NeoMedia. There has been a huge problem with the theft of store cards like Wal-mart, Home Depot, etc.
With the NeuStar deal there is a secure venue to authenticate these cards. This industry is huge and needs an ability to make card verification a mobile endeavor and I envision the eventually transfer of these funds to a mobile wallet. As you said FDC is a good partner.
I think that Chip Hoffman continued the ties as CEO of NeoMedia and probably carried those ties over to his current position at Mobile Tag. NeoMedia has already licensed to Mobile Tag so the verification system can still work outside the NeuStar alliance.
Any way the $$ comes back to NeoMedia.
